There are two operation modes, namely target mode and master mode. The interface achieves the maximum speed on the master mode, on which the interface behaves as PCI bus master. The interface drives Low Voltage Differential Signaling(LVDS)[9] on an external bus.
The maximum data transfer speed is about 50 MB/sec
between memory in a computer and FIFO in the interface
while the actual speed is about 40 MB/sec on two Pentium 4 PCs
with the interfaces.
